Finite Releases it’s 2020 Tech Industry Snapshot

Last week, Finite IT Recruitment released its Australian and New Zealand Tech Industry Snapshot for 2020, a report that delves further into market conditions, the impacts of COVID-19, IT spending, jobs and growth. The report was developed to provide hiring managers with a current market snapshot across the Technology, Digital and Business Transformation landscape with predictions for future hiring demand and business performance.
The research and data was derived from Finite’s own findings, conducting a survey on their extensive database to uncover the current state of play after what has been an incredibly challenging year for businesses and staff alike.
However, despite Australia’s first recession in three decades and high levels of uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, the Finite IT survey 2020 has revealed plenty of reasons to still be optimistic.
Finite’s Managing Director, Tracy Thomson, says “it appears as though many businesses are still expecting moderate to strong growth in the near term, which is fantastic to see and even though hiring plans have undoubtedly been altered, the high demand for tech talent continues relatively unscathed in certain sectors”.
Important findings from Finite’s report indicates that while the business landscape has changed the technology landscape has evolved in surprising ways that suggest the IT sector may emerge most strongly from the pandemic and pave the way for other industries into the coming decade.
“The resilience and success of tech companies and the rapid uptake of new communications and collaboration technologies have been two of the standout features to emerge from the pandemic so far”, says Tracy.
